Dental Services for Children

Children’s dental services include teeth cleanings, x-rays, and cavity and gum disease treatment.

Dental Exam & X-Rays

During a dental exam, your teeth will be thoroughly examined for signs of gum disease or cavities, and we will perform a dental cleaning. How often patients require dental x-rays depends on their dental health history and the condition of their teeth and gums. Those with no recent dental health problems may only need dental x-rays every two years.

Dental Sealants

Sealants are designed to prevent tooth decay by coating the back teeth that have deep crevices and the hard-to-reach areas of your smile. As a general dentist and pediatric dentist, we offer dental sealants as an excellent for children and individuals prone to cavities.

Gingivitis Gum Treatment

If gingivitis is found, you will receive a professional cleaning to remove dental plaque and debris from the gum pockets. Advanced periodontal disease may require surgery to restore gum health.

Oral Cancer Screenings

Oral cancer screenings are performed during your regular dental exam. If it’s been some time since your last dental checkup, give us a call to book your next visit.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide is a colorless, odorless gas used for local sedation, which relaxes patients quickly. The effects of the gas are quickly reversible, making it a safe sedation method.

Mouthguards for Sports

A mouth guard is a soft, flexible device used by athletes to prevent injuries to the mouth, cheeks, tongue, jaw, teeth. They are often mandatory in collision sports, including football, hockey, and boxing.

Night Moughtguards

If you grind your teeth while sleeping, you may need a custom night guard. These plastic appliances protect your teeth from damage caused by bruxism (grinding teeth). Many patients report being able to sleep better after receiving their night mouthguard.

3D Smile Assessment

The 3D Assessment not only allows us to track the movement of your teeth but also tooth wear and the changes in your gums over time — and how to best treat your smile. This scan will also show a heat map showing our doctors exactly how your bite is functioning. A bad bite can cause tooth decay or even affect the way your chew.

Why Do I Need a 3D Scan?

Unlike traditional x-rays, our scanner can detect what we call interproximal caries, which are cavities in-between the teeth. Photos can show us a bad bite and tooth decay, but what we have learned is that photos cannot show us the early stages of tooth decay. This scan shows us everything above the surface of the tooth. Our scanner also helps us take the exact measurements to prevent further tooth damage.

Will I Still Need Traditional X-Rays?

We recommend traditional x-rays as part of our comprehensive exam. Traditional x-rays show us the health of everything below the surface of the tooth and our comprehensive exam allows our team to help prevent unnecessary dental work in the future. Our comprehensive exams allow our team to see things before they get worse.
